Few people know that Vishal Bhardwaj first wanted to play in the Indian cricketer team. He was also a part of the under-19 cricket team, but had to leave the career due to injury during a practice session. He then stepped into the music world. Vishal’s attachment to music was since childhood. At the age of just 17, he composed the first song. He started in Bollywood in 1995 as a composer with the film ‘Abhay’. However, he got the real identity from the 1996 film Machis, whose songs were well received by both the audience and critics. The film was directed by Gulzar.

Vishal Bhardwaj has been awarded several National Film Awards for his music compositions. He received the first National Award for the film ‘Godamdar’ in 1999. After this, he also won this prestigious award for films like ‘Omkara’ and ‘Haider’. His music and films are always for social and emotional depth, which joins the audience.

After the composer, Vishal also stepped into the direction world. In 2002, he made his debut as a director from the film ‘Spider’. The film was based on children and the audience liked it. However, as a director, he got his real identity from films like ‘Omkara’ of 2006 and ‘Haider’ of 2014, which were based on Shakespeare’s plays. She also directed films like ‘Kaminey’, ‘7 Khoon Maaf’, and ‘Rangoon’, which were highly appreciated for their content and style.

The specialty of Vishal Bhardwaj is that he also writes songs of his films himself. He himself wrote the songs from his first directed film ‘Spadi’. Apart from this, he is also a great singer and often performs in live concerts.
