Ireland batsman Peter Moore Retirement has announced his retirement at the age of 34 after playing 15 Tests, 49 ODIs and 21 T20 International matches. Born in Harare, Moore started international cricket playing for Zimbabwe, after which he shifted to Ireland.
Moore played her last internal match in February this year, the only Test match against Zimbabwe in calling.
He made his international debut for Zimbabwe in an ODI against Bangladesh in Mirpur in November 2014. He made his T20 International and Test cricket debut in 2016 against Afghanistan and New Zealand respectively. Moore has played 8 Tests for Zimbabwe and all 49 ODIs and 21 T20 Internationals.
He qualified for Ireland in October 2022. He had an Ireland passport as his grandmother was Irish. For the first time in March-April 2023, Moore was selected in the team for Bangladesh and Sri Lanka Test tours. He played seven Test matches for Ireland
Moore never played ODI and T20 International matches for Ireland. His Test performance also declined while playing for Irland. Playing for Zimbabwe, he scored at an average of 35.33 and scored five half -centuries in eight Tests. But playing for Ireland, his average fell to 14.35, scoring the only half -century to win in July 2024 against Zimbabwe.
