Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari congratulated the new avatar of the popular model ‘Dzire’ of Maruti Suzuki India on achieving Five Star Bharat NCAP rating. Under the guidance of Gadkari, the indigenous system ‘Bharat NCAP’ was launched in 2023 to determine the safety rating of vehicles. It aims to improve road safety standards of motor vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes.

Gadkari said in a post on the social media forum ‘X’ that the new Dzire congratulates Maruti Suzuki India for getting Five Star Bharat NCAP rating. It is a glorious milestone for med-in-India cars. Maruti introduced the new avatar of the compact sedan Dzire in November 2024 with several new changes.

Gadkari said that it is encouraging to see popular models setting new standards in vehicle safety. Along with this, it is also encouraging for the company to rapidly adopt many advanced active and passive security measures including 6 airbags in its products. He said that our goal with India NCAP is to raise awareness among people about vehicle safety so that customers can take informed decisions and give priority to security while purchasing vehicles.
