Another facility has started for those traveling by Delhi Metro. Metro passengers can now book tickets on Ride-Heling App Rapido providing convenience through government-backed Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC). According to PTI news, Rapido co-founder Arvind Sanka said that the company will also provide the facility of movement from metro stations at a fixed fee of Rs 25. He said that we are providing metro ticketing on our platforms with the help of ONDC and DMRC.

First ride free for all users

According to the news, we are also doing the first ride free for all the users who book metro tickets using the Rapido app. Sanka said that Rapido is already offering ticket booking services for Kochi and Chennai Metro in collaboration with ONDC. The company will start serving at 30 metro stations in Delhi. Sanka said that every day more than 8 lakh customers use rapido and 40 percent of them are female drivers.

Pick-up and drop-off points at selected metro stations

The Rapido chief said that about 1 lakh customers are already using this service to move from metro stations. The company will make pick-up and drop-off points at selected metro stations in Delhi. Vikas Kumar, managing director of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), said that there is a progressive step towards providing cooperation with Rapido through ONDC, more connected and accessible travel experiences for passengers of Delhi. Sanka said that the initiative taken by my team, Rapido and ONDC in a way carries forward our vision, which is to make customer experience in Delhi Metro.

Earlier, Ride-Heling platform Uber also started metro ticketing on the Uber app operated by Open Network for Digital Commerce, starting from Delhi Metro. After Delhi, it is expected to live live in three more cities across India in 2025, Uber said, it will soon launch the B2B logistics through the ONDC network, a solution that will allow businesses to request on-demand logistics from the delivery network of Uber, without the need for their own fleet.
