Akshay Kumar and Kajal played Lord Shiva-Devi Parvati. Prabhas appeared in the role of Rigvedic deity Rudra and Mohanlal in the role of tribal warrior Kirat of a different era.

Vishnu Manchu appeared in the lead role in Kannappa. It has also played important roles by Mohan Babu, R Sarathkumar, Preeti Mukhundhan, Madhu, Arpit Ranka, Brahmanandam, Brahmaji, Shiv Balaji, Kaushal Manda, Rahul Madhav, Devraj and Mukesh Rishi. The film had a cameo of Prabhas, Mohanlal, Akshay Kumar and Kajal Aggarwal. ‘Kannappa’ is directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and Vishnu has written the story. Its lifetime collection was around 33 crores, while the budget of the film was 200 crores.
