Google is going to shut down another special service soon. Google will stop this service by the end of this year. According to the report, millions of gaming users may face problems due to this. Tech company is going to stop supporting Steam for Chromebook Beta. From 1 January 2026, users will not get support. Due to the closure of this service, users will not be able to play games in Chromebook through Steam. The installed game will also be removing automatically. However, the company has not given the reason for the closure of this service.
According to a 9to5google report, Google has sent a message to Chromebook users for this. In the message, users have been told that the game will not be played through Steam. From 1 January 2026, he will not be able to launch the steam nor will he be able to install any game. However, this beta app will work properly by 31 December 2025 and users will be able to use it.
What is Steam?
Steam is a PC gaming platform, through which you can download the games played on PC. Through this, you can buy the game as well as buy and download it. For this, you have to download the steam app in your PC. Google, along with Steam in 2022, rolled out its beta version for Chrombook users, which will work till 31 December 2025. After this, chrombook users will not get steam support.
In Google Chromebook, users can play 99 different gaming titles through Steam, which is compatible with this operating system. However, users will be able to play these games on Android platforms from January 1. Users will have to download the game from Google Play Store instead of Steam.
