School children soaked in rain
Rainfall is going on in most states of the country. Most of the rivers are in spate due to rain. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued heavy rain alert for the next four days in Uttarakhand on Sunday. IMD has predicted heavy rains in several districts including Uttarkashi, Tehri, Bageshwar, Dehradun and Rudraprayag in Uttarakhand.
Aerial inspection of Uttarkashi district
Earlier today, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami conducted an aerial survey of disaster affected sewing bands and Ojri band segments along with Yamunotri Marg in Uttarkashi district. Where many parts of the national highway were washed away due to heavy rains recently, which disrupted contact with the pilgrimage site. BJP state president Mahendra Bhatt was also with him during the survey.
Road interrupted at many places in Uttarkashi
Earlier this week, Yamunotri was interrupted at two points between the National Highway Sewing Band and Ojri, which severely affected the local travel and pilgrim traffic. According to Uttarkashi police, ‘Two places between Yamunotri National Highway Sewing Band and Ojri are completely closed. Because some part of the highway has been washed away. It may take time to restore the route. ‘ Efforts to restore the road are running on a war footing.
CM Dhami gave special instructions to officials
On Friday, the work of constructing Valley Bridge on the damaged part in Ojri started. Materials have been delivered from vehicles to the sewing band and is being taken to the site further as required. The Chief Minister has instructed the officials to complete the construction of the bridge soon and to ensure complete restoration of the highway, which is an important route for both the local people and the Yamunotri pilgrims.
CM also visited Corbett National Park
Later CM Dhami visited Corbett National Park. Where he participated in Jungle Safari and emphasized the state’s commitment to environmental protection and eco-perpetuation. He said that this experience is not only an opportunity to see the beauty of nature, but also an opportunity to connect with biodiversity and precious heritage of nature.
Plantation done
On this occasion, more than 1000 saplings were planted in collaboration with the forest department, local community and environmental lovers under the ‘Ek tree mother’s name’ campaign. Chief Minister Dhami said that it is not just a plantation but a soulful symbol of respect for motherhood and nature. (Input-NI)
