Bengaluru: The bomb threatened at Kemp Gauda Airport in Bengaluru. A second threat has been received in a week. The investigation proved to be a rumor of threats both times. For the second time in a week, a fake mail threatening a bomb has been sent to the airport. Bomb threatening email airport security force was received. In this threatening mail, the name of a terrorist claimed that “it was wrong to hang the terrorist Ajmal Kasab.” And it will be avenged.

On 13th of this month and 2 emails threatened by bombs were sent. Both emails were warned to place two bombs and it was said that if the plan A fails, the plan B will be activated. It also claimed that a bomb was placed inside the airport toilet pipeline.

Intensive investigation was conducted on threatening and officials declared it a rumor. A case has been registered against the email ID with which fake bomb threatened was sent and investigation is going on. The Kamphegowda Airport Police has started investigating the case.

What steps are taken on the information of the bomb in the aircraft?

  1. On receiving information about the bomb in the aircraft, several steps are taken under the aviation safety protocol to ensure the safety of all passengers and crew members. This is a complex and time -consuming process.
  2. Immediately after the threat, a ‘Bomb Threat Assessment Committee’ (BTAC) is formed at each airport. It consists of airport operators, CISF (Central Industrial Security Force), BCAS (Civil Aviation Security Bureau) and other concerned agencies.
  3. If a particular aircraft is reported to have a bomb, then decisions are taken according to its situation. If the aircraft is in the air, it is landed at the nearest airport or is going to fly, then it is stopped and examined.
  4. The aircraft is immediately transported to a separate (isolated) area of ​​the airpord. The region is away from the main terminal and other aircraft of the airport to control the potential danger.
  5. All passengers and crew members are safely landed by the aircraft by the aircraft. During this time, passengers are often not given complete information about the seriousness of the situation so that the nervousness does not spread. They are only cited as ‘technical problems’ or ‘safety check’.
  6. A detailed search of the aircraft is conducted with the help of bomb disposal squads, sniffer dogs and advanced equipment (such as X-ray machine). In this, every corner of goods, cargo and aircraft is searched.
  7. Hand luggage and check-in luggage of passengers are also examined separately. After a thorough investigation, the aircraft is declared completely safe, only then further action is taken.
