Ramanand Sagar’s mythological serial ‘Ramayana’ and its artists keep a special place in the hearts of the audience, which even today get as much love as this serial was found on telecast for the first time. The Ramayana aired on DD National between 1987 and 1988 and became a Cultic. It made it famous from Arun Govil to Deepika Chikhalia from house to house. Alam had become that people really started considering him as Lord Shri Ram and Mother Sita. Urmila Bhatt was also seen in this serial. She played the role of Mata Siti’s mother Maharani Sunaina in the show. But, when he died, everyone was surprised.

Urmila Bhatt received a lot of praise with her acting. In his career, he also worked in Hindi as well as Gujarati and Rajasthani film industry and earned a name. He said goodbye to this world on 22 February 1997 and his death surprised everyone, as he was murdered and that too with great ruthlessness. His body was found in a blood -soaked condition at his house.
Urmila Bhatt was killed on 22 February 1997
On 22 February 1997, Urmila was alone in her Gujarat house. Meanwhile, some unknown crooks entered their house and tied their hands and feet with a rope. Then these miscreants first tortured Urmila Bhatt, then cut his throat and ran away from the house after robbing precious jewels and goods. When the police reached the spot, all the belongings in his house were scattered and the body of Urmila Bhatt was lying in a blood -soaked condition.
No clue found of killers
The police tried their best to find out the responsibility of Urmila Bhatt’s death. The people around were also questioned, but no clue was found from their killers. This is the reason that till date, the case of Urmila Bhatt’s death has not been solved nor his killers have been detected.
What did Tabassum say?
Veteran actress Tabassum also told about Urmila Bhatt’s death in her show ‘Tabassum Talkies’. He explained how Urmila was killed with cruelty. His body was tied with a rope and then deeply stabbed to the neck, due to which he died.
