The controversy between Trinamool Congress leaders has increased considerably. Party MP Kalyan Banerjee has informed that he has resigned from the post of Chief Whip of the party in the Lok Sabha. Kalyan Banerjee has said that he has resigned from the post amid differences with his colleague Mahua Moitra. A virtual meeting of the party was held under the chairmanship of Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee. Kalyan Banerjee then announced its resignation.
What did Kalyan Banerjee say?
According to the PTI, Trinamool Congress Party MP Kalyan Banerjee told a news channel- “I have resigned from the post of party’s chief whip in the Lok Sabha, because ‘Didi’ (West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee) said during the virtual meeting that there is a lack of coordination among the party MPs. So the blame is on me. So, I decided to leave the post.”
What dispute with Kalyan Banerjee?
Kalyan Banerjee is a well-known face of West Bengal politics and Trinamool Congress. He is a four -time MP from Srirampur Loksba seat in West Bengal. Recently, he had a frequent differences with MP Mahua Moitra. Apart from this, he also had a public dispute with former cricketer and party MP Kirti Azad.
What is the dispute between Mahua Moitra and Kalyan Banerjee?
According to sources, a few months ago, there were reports of tension between Mahua Moitra and Kalyan Banerjee on several issues. Mahua Moitra was allegedly angry with Kalyan Banerjee because she was not given enough time to speak in the Lok Sabha. Kalyan Banerjee is responsible for managing floor time among many MPs. Mahua Moitra wants to express her opinion on most issues in the House. However, she was allegedly denied it on several occasions that were disappointed. According to the information, Mahua allegedly used abusive language against Kalyan Banerjee and his daughter. Once, he called Kalyan Banerjee as ‘Chhoto Lok’ (a lowly person in Bengali), due to which Banerjee was very hurt.
