Duty building
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the duty building on the duty path of New Delhi today. Will inaugurate Duty Bhavan – 3 on the duty path of Delhi at 12.15 pm. After this, he will also address a public program at 6:30 pm. Explain that all the ministries and departments of the central government scattered in different buildings of Delhi will now be seen in the duties on both sides of the duty path soon. Duty Bhavan-3 is the first in 10 building of Common Central Secretariat (CSS). It is part of the Central Vista Project.
Which ministries will be in Duty Bhavan-3?
The new building will have the office of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Rural Development, MSME, DOPT (Ministry of Personnel), Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Principal Scientific Advisor. Some ministries will shift to it from today. These ministry will be shifted from Shastri Bhavan, Krishi Bhawan, Construction Building and Udyog Bhavan. The condition of these old buildings built in the 1950–70s is dilapidated. Under the Central Vista Project, 10 such duty buildings are to be built, PM Modi is going to inaugurate the most initiative built today.
PMO said that the duty of which is being inaugurated is a part of the widespread change of Central Vista. This is the first of many upcoming Common Central Secretariat buildings, which aims to enable administrative processes to a streamlined and tight governance.

What is special in duty building?
- Duty Bhavan-3 is built at Janpath in Delhi. Spread over an area of 1.5 lakh square meters, this building has 2 levels of basement and 10 floors including ground floors.
- Parking of 600 trains has been arranged in the building. These have 24 main conference rooms, while 26 are small conference rooms.
- The building has facilities such as safe and IT-competent workplace, smart entry system, electronic monitoring and command centers, solar panels, solar water heaters and e-vehicle charging stations.
- It also promotes environmentally friendly construction, including re -use of waste water, solid waste management systems.
- Special glass windows have been installed in it to keep the building cool and reduce external noise pollution.
- The duty building has been designed for 30 percent less energy consumption. Energy saving LED lights, sensors that shut down lights, electricity saving smart lifts have been installed if not needed.
What will happen to North and South Blocks?
All the ministries present in North and South Blocks will shift to Duty Bhavan. So now the question is what will happen to North and South Blocks? So let us tell you that both blocks will be evacuated and converted into museum. Which will be named ‘Yuga Yugin Bharat’ Museum. During this time, without tampering with the structure, it will showcase the history, art and culture etc. of the country till today.
Why the need for a new building was needed?
Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar told reporters on Tuesday in the auditorium of newly constructed Duty Bhavan-3 that by next month, Kartya Bhawan-1 and Kartya Bhawan-2 will also be ready. The work of both is almost in the final stages. The other seven buildings proposed will also be ready by April 2027. About 1000 crores will be spent on this project. Minister Khattar said in response to a question that there was a need to build new and state -of -the -art buildings of the ministries because the existing buildings of them were built between 1950 and 1970. All these have become old, their annual maintenance had become quite expensive.
