Auspicious time of Som Pradosh Vrat (June 2025): Som Pradosh Vrat Date and Time 2025
• Trayodashi date starts: After midnight of 22 June, 23 June 2025, at 01 pm 21 minutes.
• Trayodashi date ends: 23 June 2025, will be at 10.10 pm.
• Pradosh Vrat Puja Muhurta: On 23 June 2025, 07 in the evening from 07 pm to 09:30 pm.
• The most special time of worship on Trayodashi date- about 02 hours 00 minutes.
Som Pradosh Vrat Pujan Vidhi: On the day of Som Pradosh fast, Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati are worshiped in Pradosh Kaal/ evening time.
1. Preparation of Morning:
– On the day of Pradosh fast, get up before sunrise in the morning and take a bath.
– Wear clean clothes and take a pledge to fast while meditating on Lord Shiva.
– Keep Nirjala or Falahari fast throughout the day.
– Light the lamp in the temple of the house and perform Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva.
2. Evening worship (in Pradosh period):
– In the evening (before the start of Pradosh Kaal), take a bath again and wear clean clothes.
– Prepare a pavilion or clean place for worship. You can also make a rangoli on it by making a pavilion with cow dung.
– Install Lord Shiva, Mata Parvati and Nandi’s statue or picture on a post.
– Operate towards the north-east direction and sit on the seat of Kusha.
– Coronation: First of all, anoint Lord Shiva with Ganga water. After this, anoint them with raw milk, curd, honey, ghee and sugar candy. Offer pure water or Ganga water after anointing with every material.
– Offer material: Offer bell -leaf (3 leaves), mudra, dhatura, cannabis, white sandalwood, akshat (whole rice), black sesame, shami flowers and letters, Kaner, Kalava, Fruit and Mishthan (white -colored indulgence or kheer) on the Shivling.
– Deep and incense: Light a lamp of ghee and do incense and incense sticks.
– Chanting Mantra: Chant the mantra ‘Om Namah Shivaya’ at least 108 times. You can also chant Mahamrityunjaya Mantra.
– Story lesson: Read or listen to the story of Som Pradosh Vrat.
– Shiva Chalisa: Read Shiva Chalisa.
– Aarti: Finally perform the Aarti of the entire Shiva family including Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati.
– Prayer and forgiveness: Ask for any mistake in worship and unknowingly, ask for apologies and pray to Lord Shiva for your wish fulfillment.
3. Paran (fasting):
– Fasting is done on Dwadashi date only after the end of Pradosh Kaal after sunrise.
– Before passing, provide food to a Brahmin or give donations.
