The terrible explosion caused vibrations in the earth

An intense vibrations were felt before the volcanic explosion, which began around 10 pm and reached its peak three hours later.

From “code red” to “orange” alert

Volcanic Ash Advisory Center Tools (VAAC) first released the “Code Red” for the blast, which was converted to “Orange Alert” a few hours later. The organization said that the clouds of ash are mainly made of water and sulfur dioxide, which are flowing towards the south-west direction. This can pose a risk of raining towards the population. Hot lava, vulgar water and sulfur dioxide can also occur with ash.

Explosions happening since Saturday night

Italy’s National Geophysics and Volcanic Institute (INGV) confirmed, “Since last Saturday night, there have been continuous stromboleon explosions, whose intensity is increasing continuously and is currently highly powerful.” It was also said that “the activity of the explosion from the Southeast Crater has now turned into a lava fountain and the level of vibration is very high.”

Volcano has erupted earlier

Mount Etna’s previous major explosion occurred in May, while in February 2024, the hot lava and fire from this volcano turned the entire mountain into a burning peak. At that time many towns were covered with a sheet of black volcanic ash.
