Auto News Desk – Toyota presented the concept model of its Hiace EV at the Tokyo Motor Show. However, the company has not shared any details about its powertrain. Toyota Autobody, the subsidiary of Toyota that handles the company’s commercial vehicles and vans, has unveiled an electric concept Hiace van at the Japan Mobility Show (Tokyo Motor Show 2023). Additionally, Toyota has also unveiled a concept sportscar, SUV and even a Land Cruiser Prado at the event. Let us know about this electric van in detail.

Talking about the dimensions of Toyota Hiace BEV, its length is 5,280mm, width is 1,950mm, height is 1,990mm and wheelbase is 3,210mm. However, it may be larger in its actual dimensions. The company claims that the turning radius of the electric Hiace will be 5.5 meters. The Toyota Hiace EV was showcased in a cargo van setup, offering only a single seat. A large touchscreen is provided next to the steering wheel. The brand claims that the screen will be able to display information such as the location of packages in the van. It will be able to map the shortest delivery routes.

Single seat concept will increase space
Single seat option has been given in this EV concept vehicle, which helps in increasing the cargo space. Cargo spec vans get a flat floor. Apart from this, a rack is also present to keep the packages. There is so much space in this e-van that a small family can sleep comfortably by placing a bed inside the vehicle.

Battery size, range or drive details
Toyota hasn’t revealed any powertrain details like battery size, range or drive details. But the brand has also said that the van can also be used as a tourist van and even for public services like an ambulance. The Hiace BEV is based on the new generation MPV. Toyota sold the previous generation Hiace in limited numbers in India. Now it remains to be seen whether the new EV comes to the Indian market or not.
