Traffic on Delhi-Meerut Expressway, Delhi Police released alert
A heavy jam was seen on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway in Ghaziabad.
New Delhi: The festival of Rakshabandhan is near and it is falling with the weekend, due to which the Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory on August 8. Police have warned that there may be a huge crowd and jam situation on the major roads going out of Delhi, especially the National Highway-44 (NH-44) and the Singhhu border. These routes connect Delhi to northern cities like Karnal, Panipat, Sonipat and Chandigarh.
Heavy jam on Ghaziabad-Delhi-Meerut Expressway
The Delhi-Meerut Expressway (NH-24) in Ghaziabad saw heavy traffic jams due to Rakshabandhan holidays. Especially vehicles were seen crawling for several kilometers on the roads leading from Ghaziabad to Hapur and Meerut. The weekend holidays with Rakshabandhan further increased the number of vehicles on the roads, causing a lot of trouble to the passengers.
Delhi Police gave this advice to people
Delhi Traffic Police has advised passengers to take some important steps to avoid traffic problems:
- Use alternative routes: To avoid jam on NH-44 and NH-24, resort to other routes.
- Choose public transport: Delhi Metro and other public transport means are convenient and sharp, use them.
- Plan the journey in advance: Plan your journey ahead of time during the holidays to avoid getting stuck in the jam.
Administration is monitoring the situation
Traffic police and local administration are monitoring the situation and are trying to smooth the traffic. On this special occasion of Rakshabandhan, there is an appeal to the passengers to be patient and make their journey easy and safe by considering the advice of the police. Given the current conditions, it is advisable that if you are thinking of traveling on Delhi-Meerut Expressway or NH-44, first check the condition of the paths and go out prematurely so that the festival is not fun.
