The rest of the tech companies are also trimmed
Apart from TCS, Microsoft has also trimmed more than 15,000 employees in the year 2025, which is about 7% of its total workforce. According to data.fyi data, more than 80,000 employees have been trimmed in 169 tech companies so far in 2025. This figure was 1.5 lakh in the year 2024. Experts believe that the increasing influence of AI behind these cuttings, possibility of recession, and strategy to reduce the cost of companies are major reasons.
