The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is going to start a new initiative to make the journey safe and tension free during the monsoon. According to the information received, NHAI will give real time monsoon updates to people traveling on the National Highway. This service will provide through NHAI, AI-Based Intelligence Traffic Management System. Mobile alerts will be sent through NHAI highway travel app and IMD’s Meghdoot app. With this, the driver driving on NH will get information about real time rain. This will make driving on HH in rain safe and tension free.

Drone will be monitored

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways said in a statement released on Monday, “NHAI is taking active steps to prepare for floods across the country to deal with the problem of waterlogging on national highways during the monsoon season.” Drone will be deployed to detect problems on national highways, maintain proper road slope and identify the cracks of the pavement and fix them wherever necessary, enabling emergency response.

Started a 15 -day campaign

According to the statement, NHAI has launched a 15 -day campaign, in which NHAI officials, contractors and advisors are inspecting various parts of national highways to identify important areas that are likely to be damaged or affected by waterlogging or landslides, so that the free flow of water route can be ensured through structures like bridges and culverts on national highways. This strategy of NHAI will provide relief to millions of passengers traveling on the highway during the monsoon season. This measure will ensure that waterlogging, traffic obstruction and security problems remain minimal on India’s National Highway.
