Tri Series Update: Team India gets a big shock, Kashvi Gautam out of the tri -series

The Indian women’s cricket team has suffered a major setback between the tri -series being played against Sri Lanka and South Africa. Kashvi Gautam, the all -rounder of the Indian women’s team, is out of the current series due to injury. Kashvi Gautam got a chance to make his debut in international cricket in the first match of the series against Sri Lanka after performing brilliantly for Gujarat giants in the Women’s Premier League 2025 (WPL 2025).

The right -arm fast bowler impressed by bowling eight overs in his debut match. During this time he did not get any wicket but while bowling economically, Gautam recorded 0/28 figures. India won this match by nine wickets. However, Gautam’s debut series has ended after three matches due to a leg injury.

The 22 -year -old player was bereft of wickets in three matches played in the series and she could score just 22 runs with the bat. Kranti Gaur is sure to be replaced by Gautam. Interestingly, he too has not made his debut in international cricket and played eight matches for UP Warriors in WPL. The right -handed fast bowler has taken six wickets in eight innings in his career.

Meanwhile, India topped three matches with two wins and has four points. He started the series with a stunning win of nine wickets over Sri Lanka and then a thrilling 15 -run win over South Africa. However, India’s winning campaign ended in the third match and Sri Lanka defeated him by three wickets in their third match. The team led by Harmanpreet Kaur will take on South Africa in their next match on Wednesday, May 7.

South Africa’s women’s team need nothing less than a win in the upcoming match to stay in the series. These teams have not won a single match in the series yet. In such a situation, another defeat will be removed from the competition and India and Sri Lanka will clash in the final on May 11.
