Washington: US President Donald Trump has withdrawn the secret service security of former Vice President Kamala Harris. This information has been given by a senior White House officer. This decision was taken at a time when politics in America is already hot on various issues.
What is the security rules for former vice -presidents in America
According to US rules, former Vice Presidents get federal security for six months after leaving the post. Whereas former presidents are provided with lifetime security. However, another source said that former President Joe Biden had signed a confidential directive, under which Kamla Harris continued to get secret service security even after six months deadline. This decision was probably taken keeping in mind their specific political situation and activism in public life. But Trump has now withdrawn the secret service security.

The decision taken by the Trump administration in view of recent incidents in the US is raising questions in political circles. It is not yet clear what is the reason for removing this security nor has it been formally confirmed by the administration. Sources said on the condition of anonymity that the decision has not yet been declared publicly and discussions are on at the internal level. But it is believed that according to the rules, this decision was taken after the completion of 6 months of withdrawing from the post.
