New York/Washington: Peter Navaro, the leading business advisor to US President Donald Trump, has called the unity ‘disturbing’ between the leaders of India, Russia and China. He said that Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi should be with America, Europe and Ukraine instead of Russia. The statement came after the friendship between the Shanghai Cooperation Organization i.e. the SCO summit on Monday, Modi, Russian in China, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

‘It’s very disturbing’

Navaro said in the White House, ‘It is very disturbing. It is shameful that the leaders of the world’s largest democratic system are showing close to two big dictator leaders like Modi, Putin and Xi Jinping. It is beyond comprehension. ‘ His statement has come at a time when relations between India and America are going through the worst phase in the last 2 decades. The Trump administration has imposed an additional 25% tariff to buy 25% mutual tariffs and Russian oil on India, which has implemented a total of 50% tariff on India, which is the highest in the world. India has described these tariffs as ‘unfair and irrational’.

‘Don’t understand what Modi is thinking’

Navaro said, ‘I do not understand what Modi is thinking, especially when there has been tension between India and China for decades, and sometimes the matter has reached the war. We hope that Indian leaders will understand that they should be with America, Europe and Ukraine instead of Russia. They have to stop buying Russian oil. India has defended its decision to buy Russian oil, saying that there is this national interest and market danamics. Western countries have banned Russian oil after Russia’s attack on Ukraine, after which Russia has become India’s largest energy supplier.

Chemistry of PM Modi, Xi and Jinping

Modi, Putin and Xi met warmly at the SCO summit in Taenzin. In the pictures, the three leaders were seen shaking hands with each other, hugging and laughing. The meeting took place at a time when Trump’s tariff policy and his criticism on India have created a sour into the relationship between the two countries. Analysts say this solidarity shows an alternative system against the US dominance on the global stage.

Criticism of Navaro and India’s attitude

Navaro taunted India as ‘the Maharaja of Tariff’ and claimed that India impose the most tariffs and does not accept it. He said, “They do not let us sell goods here, this causes damage to American laborers and taxpayers.” At the same time, he targeted the Brahmin community of India, saying, “Indian people should understand that Brahmins are making profiteering against their interests.” At the same time, India made it clear that it will continue to buy Russian oil, as it is the ‘best deal’ for its 1.4 billion citizens.
