The Delhi High Court on Monday dismissed a petition challenging the cancellation of security approval by the Turki -based company Celibi. Aviation monitoring organization BCAS had canceled the security approval of the company in the interest of national security. Justice Sachin Dutta reserved the verdict in the case on 23 May.

Security approval was canceled on 15 May

Security approval was canceled by the Civil Aviation Security Bureau of Security (BCAS) on 15 May. A few days before this, the Turkas supported Pakistan and condemned India’s attacks on terrorist camps in the neighboring country.

What works Celeby Aviation?

‘Celebi Airport Services India Private Limited’ and ‘Celebi Delhi Cargo Terminal Management India Private Limited’ oversee ground handling and cargo terminal functions at various airports in the country.

The gesture was made towards unprecedented danger

The Central Authority’s lawyer defended the action and pointed to “unprecedented” threat for aviation security. Celebi’s lawyer argued that the Center’s move was against the principles of natural justice and a violation of the process under aircraft safety rules. He said that the Director General of Civil Aviation Security Bureau of Bureau of Security should have heard the petitioners after informing them about the “proposed penalty” and after that they should also be told because of their act.

Work for more than 15 years

The Center said on May 19 that the decision to cancel the approval has been taken in the interest of national security, as it was reported that it would be dangerous to continue the services of the petitioner companies in the current scenario. Celabi has been working in the Indian aviation sector for more than 15 years and has more than 10,000 people. It provides its services at nine airports. (With language input)
