The United Arab Emirates (UAE) surprised everyone by taking a peculiar step in the Women’s T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier 2025. On Saturday, May 10, the UAE retired his entire team out in his match against Qatar at the Tradthi Cricket Ground in Bangkok. His decision has rained mims and tweets on social media.

After batting first, the UAE made a brilliant debut with its opener Tirtha Satish and captain Isha Rohit Oja. Both of them shared a 192 -run partnership for the opening wicket in 16 overs, putting pressure on the bowlers of Qatar. Meanwhile, sensing the possibility of rain, the UAE retired its entire team. Since the deckleration does not apply in T20 International, each batsman ran towards the crease wearing a pad and retired out when he reached the ground.

This score of 192 runs proved to be sufficient for UAE and Qatar’s team was dismissed for 29 runs in 11.1 overs due to which the UAE won the match by 163 runs. Captain Isha scored 113 runs off 55 balls with the help of 14 fours and five sixes. Satish supported him and hit 11 fours in an innings of 74 runs off 42 balls. Isha also won the award for the best player of the match with a 1-0-1-1 figure. Left -arm spinner Mitchell Botha took three wickets for 11 runs in four overs. Katie Thompson took two wickets, while Isha, Heena Hotchandani, Indian Nandkumar and Vaishnav Mahesh took one wicket each.

With this win, the UAE reached the top of the tournament with four points and a net run rate of +6.998 thanks to the win in both their matches. The UAE won Malaysia by nine wickets before defeating Qatar. His next match is against Malaysia on the same ground in Bangkok on 13 May.
