Union Minister Shekhawat on Britain visit, held bilateral meetings on tourism
London, 07 November (Hindustan Reporter). Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat is on a visit to Britain these days. He held bilateral meetings with France, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain here and also attended the World Travel Market (WTM) in London. Union Minister Shekhawat also met Indian High Commissioner Vikram Doraiswami and officials of the Indian High Commission in London along with big names in the tourism sector.
Shekhawat said that we discussed various issues related to tourism. Harnessing the power of travel to promote cultural exchange and economic growth is the need of the hour for India in this new global order especially driven by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with emphasis on Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. Shekhawat said that the World Travel Market (WTM ) said that it is an excellent platform to connect with global travel industry leaders, discover new destinations and showcase India’s diverse tourism offerings.
Describing the visit to the Victoria and Albert Museum as memorable, Shekhawat said that the relations between Britain and India also have a shared cultural heritage. The South Asia Gallery was special for me, where an amazing collection of 5 thousand years of Indian heritage can be seen.
