UP government gave big gift, these people will get exemption in stamp duty, know details

The Uttar Pradesh government has given a gift to ex -servicemen and disabled. Now they will get a discount in stamp duty, which is already getting only women. The announcement was made during a meeting of the Stamp and Registration Department on Thursday, where Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also issued several instructions with the aim of increasing government efficiency. Ex -servicemen and disabled now will now get 1 percent discount in stamp duty on purchase of assets up to Rs 1 crore.

Existing rules of exemption

Under the new policy, assets up to Rs 1 crore purchased in the name of women, including land or houses, will now get a discount of 1 percent. Earlier, this benefit was limited to assets up to Rs 10 lakh, the maximum discount of ₹ 10,000. However, with the new decision, this discount has been increased to up to ₹ 1 crore assets, ensuring more financial benefits to women in the state.

E-payment of registration fee of more than ₹ 20,000 compulsory

According to PTI news, a statement said that on the basis of positive results of a pilot project in 5 districts, Chief Minister Adityanath directed that e-payment of registration fee of more than Rs 20,000 should be made mandatory in all districts. He also called for implementing Aadhaar authentication to curb fraud and implement a single-line e-regulation system to simplify the procedures for the allottees of development authorities.

Instructions to fill the vacant posts as soon as possible

The Chief Minister instructed the officials to fill the vacant posts as soon as possible, and also asked to find more options for the stamp sale and to rationalize the sellers’ commission. He announced that stamp duty and registration fee will be waived on lease agreement up to 10 years for small and medium level rent. Stamp and Registration Minister Ravindra Jaiswal was also present in the meeting, where notable progress was given in digitization.

Officials told the Chief Minister that 99 percent of the deeds registered from 2002 to 2017 have been digitized, while more than 98 percent are currently being registered through e-stamp. He said that the evaluation lists have been amended in all districts to remove discrepancies and CCTV cameras are being installed in sub-registrar offices to increase security.
