The real name of the actor, known as Manoj Kumar in Hindi cinema, was Harikishan Giri Goswami. He was also known as Bharat Kumar. He gave more than one film in his 4th film career. Manoj Kumar, who has given hit films like ‘Upkar’, ‘East-West’, ‘Kranti’, ‘Roti-Kapra’ and ‘House’, was asked by Lal Bahadur Shastri to make a film on his famous slogan ‘Jai Jawa Jai Kisan’. Then he made the film ‘Upkar’ in 1967 which was one of the highest -grossing films at that time. Drainned by patriotism, the film looted accolades with critics and fans. After this, he made many films on patriotism which proved to be a hit. Its music was the sixth best -selling Hindi film album of the 1960s. The film won the National Film Award to actor Manoj. His on -screen name in the film ‘Purab Aur Paschim’, ‘Kranti’, ‘Roti Cloth and House’, ‘Upkar’ was Bharat Kumar and then he became famous among the same name among the people.
