Kathmandu. US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has described Nepal as an important partner of America in the Indo-Pacific. Nepal and America have 76 years old diplomatic relations. He said that we are working together for an open, free, secure and prosperous region. He said this after bilateral talks with Nepal’s Foreign Minister NP Saud in Washington. Blinken praised Nepal’s constructive role on the world stage. He expressed his condolences to the 10 Nepalis killed in the Hamas attack in Israel. Minister Blinken said that Nepal has played an important role in strengthening democratic governance and he wants to see Nepal as a prosperous democratic country.
Foreign Minister Saud thanked America for helping Nepal in many areas. In the bilateral talks he talked about the implementation of the Millennium Challenge Compact (MCC) project to further expand bilateral relations and strengthen the partnership between Nepal and the US. Foreign Minister Saud discussed development and expansion of trade and investment, agriculture, food security, technology for the development of Nepal. The US Secretary of State has expressed his commitment to the implementation of the project under the MCC. He also said that America is always ready to help for the overall development of Nepal.
