Uttarakhand- Chardham Yatra stopped due to heavy rains
Chardham Yatra has been temporarily stopped in view of heavy rains in Uttarakhand. CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the journey will be started when the journey is completely safe for the devotees.
Landslides took place near Sonprayag on Kedarnath road in Uttarakhand on Wednesday night and the road was closed. During this time 40 devotees got trapped. The SDRF team reached the spot and took out everyone safely.
The Meteorological Department has today issued an orange alert of rain in 11 states including Rajasthan-Madhya Pradesh. Rainfall has been going on in Rajasthan for the last 4 days. After heavy rains on Wednesday, 2 feet of water was flooded in the Ajmer Sharif Dargah complex.
At the same time, during heavy rains, a part of the roof of the verandah built in the dargah complex also collapsed. However, no one was hurt during this time. The Dargah Committee has stopped the movement of people in that part.
The number of people who died due to cloudburst and floods in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh has increased to 13. 29 people are still missing. 2 more bodies were found on Thursday. Relief work may face problems due to bad weather, as the Meteorological Department has issued a flood alert in many districts.
SDRF saved laborers trapped in river in Uttarakhand
On Thursday, the SDRF team received information that some laborers were stranded in the river near the Badwala Sadhana Kendra Ashram. The SDRF team immediately left for the scene and took out the trapped laborers as soon as the information was received.
