Vadgaonsheri, 7th November 2024: Former MLA Jagdish Mulik has officially joined forces with Sunil Tingre, the Mahayuti candidate from Vadgaonsheri, after being appeased by senior BJP leader and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Mulik, who was reportedly upset after being denied a ticket for the upcoming state assembly election, had his concerns addressed during a meeting at his residence last week, paving the way for his participation in Tingre’s campaign.

On Tuesday, Mulik and Tingre began their joint campaign efforts in Vadgaonsheri. This partnership is particularly notable because Tingre, representing the undivided Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), had defeated Mulik in the 2019 assembly election from the same constituency. Now, both leaders are working together under the Mahayuti banner, which is an alliance between BJP, Shiv Sena (Shinde faction), and Ajit Pawar’s NCP.

Speaking at the campaign event, Mulik expressed confidence in the future of the constituency, stating, “Wadgaon Sheri will have the advantage of having two strong leaders working for its development – myself in the Legislative Council and Sunil Tingre in the Assembly. This will bring about significant growth under the Mahayuti government.”

Sunil Tingre, addressing party workers and supporters, dismissed opposition rumors. “The opposition is trying to spread misinformation, but we should not fall prey to these false narratives,” Tingre said. “The Mahayuti is united and strong, from the leadership to the grassroots workers, and we are all working hard to ensure victory.”

This show of unity within the Mahayuti in Vadgaonsheri signals a strategic push ahead of the state election, as the alliance aims to consolidate its support base in key constituencies.
