Vaitarna River Origin Odisha: Vaitarani river is mentioned in the phantom of Garuda Purana. It is said that both sin or virtuous soul has to cross the river Vaitarani after death. The sinner sees this river full of blood, stool, urine and many violent creatures, while the saint sees this river of a calm and pure water. It can reach the soul Yamlok only by crossing the river, but we are not talking about this river. We are talking about the Vaitarani river flowing in India, which you may know rarely.
This river flows three places:
1. Uttarakhand: It is believed that the Puranas’ part of the Vaitarani river is somewhere in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand, but no one knows where it is.
2. Maharashtra: A river originates from the Western Ghats near Nashik in Maharashtra, which falls into the Arabian Sea, it is called the local people Vaitarani. The Sahyadri mountain range in Trimbakeshwar. It is especially located in the west of the Brahmagiri hills. This river is a river flowing west. At a short distance from Vaitarani, there is also the origin of the famous Godavari, which is called the Ganges of the south.
3. Vaitarani River of Odisha state:
1. Ords: The river named Vaitarani in the state of Odisha is considered the main river. This is a very large and beautiful river. It also has terrible kind of crocodiles. It originates from the Gonasika hill. The Gonasika hill is located 30 km from the city of Consar.
2. Gupta Ganga: This river flows from Gonasika i.e. cow’s nose -shaped hill and flows underground for about half a kilometer and does not appear from outside. Therefore it is also called Gupta Ganga.
3. Length of River: Further, this river starts coming out of the land and as it moves forward, its part becomes wide. Its length is stated to be around 355 km.
4. Merus of river: The river joins the Bay of Bengal near Dhamra in Baleshwar district along with the Brahmin river. Its basin is called the Brahmin-Vitrani Basin.
5. The secret of conch island: Where the river ends, there is also a mysterious island of conch -shaped size. It is said that this is a place to go to Baikunth. There is a temple here where thousands of live conch come to eat the offerings.
