Shahjahanpur. A minor girl student studying in class 8 was allegedly raped by a van driver on Monday in Kant police station area of Shahjahanpur in Uttar Pradesh. On the complaint of the family members, the police have registered a case and arrested the accused van driver.
Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Rajesh Kumar said on Tuesday that a Class 8 student of a private school in Police Station Kant used to go to the school located in Kant area by van from her home in Police Station Ramchandra Mission area.
The van driver Shivanshu (20) used to take the student from home to school and drop her back home. On Monday morning, the driver took the student from home to school but instead of taking her to school, he took her to his home on the pretext.
He told that after this the driver raped the student and threatened the student that if she told anyone, he would kill her. When the student returned home, she told the incident to her family members, after which a complaint was lodged in the police station on Monday.
Rajesh told that the police has arrested the van driver Shivanshu (20) from the gate of Polytechnic College and sent him to jail, while the victim has been sent to the Government Medical College for medical examination.
