Varalakshmi Vrat Katha, Puja Vidhi: According to religious scriptures, Mother Varalakshmi is considered an incarnation of Goddess Mahalakshmi, hence she was also named Varalakshmi by mixing groom and Lakshmi. This fast is celebrated on Friday before the festival of Savan Purnima or Raksha Bandhan in the month of Shravan. Especially this fast, which is kept in South India, is considered to fulfill all wishes and remove the crisis of money. Worship material of Varalakshmi Vrat: Collect coconut, sandalwood, turmeric, kumkum, kalash, red cloth, akshat, fruit, flower, durva, lamp, incense, turmeric, molly, mirror, comb, mango leaves, betel leaves, curd, banana, panchamrit, camphor milk and water.

How to worship Varalakshmi, know the method:

– Varalakshmi Vrat i.e. on the date of Shukla Paksha of Shravan month and on the first date of Sawan Purnima, deal with daily deeds in the morning and purify the place of worship with Ganga water.

– Put a wooden slab at the place of worship and put a red cloth on it.

Now install the idol of Goddess Lakshmi and Ganesha on it.

– Sprinkle all the idols or pictures and bathe and then take a pledge to fast.

– Now place a water urn on the right side of the idol or picture on the right/rice pile.

– Apply sandalwood around the Kalash, tie Molly and worship the Kalash.

Now light the lamp of incense and lamp and ghee in front of Goddess Lakshmi and Ganesh.

After this, offer flowers, durva, coconut, sandalwood, turmeric, kumkum, garland, naivedya i.e. Shodoshapachar Puja.

– Offer a sol makeup to mother Varalakshmi and offer them.

After this, chant the mantras of the mother.

* ‘Shri Mahalakshmai Namah’

* ‘Om Shree Shriya Namah’

* ‘Shri Hr Klein Hr Shriman Mahalakshmai Namah’

* ‘Shriman Shree Shree Kamle Kamalalaya Prasid Shriman Shree Shri Mahalakshmai Namah’.

* ‘ॐ Kamalvasinai Shree Shriya Namah:’

Chant any one of these mantras 108 times.

– Finally perform the Aarti of Mother.

– Aarti, distribute the offerings among all.

After worship and Aarti, recite the Varalakshmi Vrat Katha.

Please tell that on this day, 9 types of fruits and sweets are offered to Goddess Varalakshmi and by worshiping 108 names of mother, after re-worshiping in the evening, Suhagin women offer honey material and fruit gifts to each other.

Story of Varalakshmi fast- It is said that Lord Shiva narrated the story of Varalakshmi Mata to Goddess Parvati. According to the legend, there was a city called Kundi in Magadha country. That city was built from gold. There was a woman named Charumati in that city. Charumati used to take great care of her husband and she was a great devotee of Mata Lakshmi. Every Friday, Charumati used to fast on Mata Lakshmi and Lakshmi was also very happy with her.

Once, Mother Lakshmi came in the dream of Charumati and told her about this fast. Then from Charumati, along with all the women of that city methodically kept this fast and worshiped Maa Lakshmi. As soon as the worship of Charumati was done, many gold jewelery was decorated on his body and his house also became full of wealth. After that, all the women of the city also started keeping this fast.

Since then, this fast has been recognized as Varalakshmi fast. And for this reason, every year women worship Goddess Varalakshmi on the last Friday of Shukla Paksha of Shravan month and first of Shravan Purnima.

By keeping a fast in this way, Maa Lakshmi is pleased and gives a boon of wealth and happiness and prosperity.
