Victor Banerjee’s big statement on the release of The Bengal files, demands a peaceful screening from the President
Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri’s ‘The Bengal Files’ is becoming one of the most popular films of this year. The film, based on the background of Direct Action Day in Kolkata on 16 August 1946, is the last episode of the famous trillion, which brings out the truth of the director, including The Tashkent Files and The Kashmir Files.
The powerful teaser of the film has shown the first glimpse of the fearless story to the audience, while the trailer launch in Kolkata has further increased the curiosity. This film has started discussion across the country and it is being talked about everywhere.
Amidst the love and support being found from all around the film, now Bengali superstar Victor Banerjee has also supported ‘The Bengal files’. He appealed to the President of India to allow the screening of the film to be held peacefully.
Filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri said, as you know, the screening of the film The Bengal files is going to be held on 5 September 2025. The film is a courageous attempt to reveal a black and painful chapter in the history of Bengal and India. But it is a matter of concern that during the trailer launch event in Kolkata, the film’s trailer was forced and illegally stopped.
Expressing concern over this, Bengali superstar Victor Banerjee said, “We feel that the screening of this film to be held in West Bengal can also be deliberately stopped or suppressed.” Such steps not only take away the freedom of art but also removes the truth and also away from the right to keep their thinking. Therefore, we appeal to the Honorable President of India that the screening of the film should be peacefully without any fear or hindrance and the rights of the actors and the audience should be reserved.
‘The Bengal Files’ has been written and directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri. It is produced by Abhishek Aggarwal, Pallavi Joshi and Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri. The film stars Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Anupam Kher and Darshan Kumar. The film will be released in theaters on September 5, 2025.
