Dead body recovered from dam
A surprising case of tantra-mantra and superstition has come to light in Gajapati district of Odisha. The body of a 40 -year -old Gopal Mallik has been recovered from Harbhangi Dam near Rachaguda village in the district. Some people of the village have been accused of killing Gopal, who had suspected him of doing tantra-mantra. Police have detained 14 people in this case, out of which 6 main accused have confessed their crime.
What is the whole matter?
According to the information, 15 days ago, the wife of Subhash Mallik, a young man from the village, died suddenly. The cause of the disease was not clear. After this death, rumors of Gopal Mallik’s witchcraft started spreading in the village. Due to these rumors, on Saturday, Subhash Mallik and some other villagers picked up Gopal and took him to Harbhangi Dam.
There he brutally assaulted Gopal, tied his hands and feet and also cut his genitals. After this, his body was thrown into the dam. When the body was found floating in the dam on Sunday morning, the police was informed about it. Police reached the spot and started investigation and took the body out of the dam.
How did the accused confess the crime?
Gopal’s family had filed a complaint in this case. After this, the Mohana police took action and detained about 14 people of the village for questioning. After continuous interrogation, 6 main accused confessed their crime and informed the police about the place where the body was thrown.
Gentered genitals thrown into dams
Gajapati SP Jatindra Kumar Panda said, “We had received a written complaint of Gopal Mallik’s sister -in -law. Based on this we started an investigation and arrested 14 people. Of these, 6 of them carried out the murder, while 8 people helped him.” The SP further said, “The accused said that they picked up Gopal from the village and took him to Harbhangi Dam. There he tied his hands and feet, stabbed the head and ear and also cut his genitals, after which the body was thrown into the water.”
Waiting for post mortem report
Police have seized stones, rope and other materials used in the murder from the spot. In addition, three autos used to abscond have also been seized. The police took out the body with the help of the fire service team, which was largely rotten. The body has been sent for post -mortem. Police say that only after the post -mortem report comes, there will be complete clarity on the right reason and manner of the murder. Forensic team was also called on the spot.
