In the 40th match of IPL 2025, Delhi Capital fast bowler Mukesh Kumar dismissed Lucknow Super Giants batsman Mitchell Marsh on Tuesday (April 22). This ball certainly became the ball of the season contender for IPL 2025. Mukesh put a yorker off the last ball of the 14th over, which took a reverse swing on the pitch directly to Marsh’s off-stump. Marsh could not understand this ball and could not connect with the bat, causing him to become clean bold.
The incident took place at a significant turn of the match, when Lucknow Super Giants was in 107/2 in 13 overs. Mukesh Kumar also dismissed Abdul Samad on the second ball of this over, who tried to play a long shot, but the ball went straight into the hands of the bowlers. Mukesh took a total of 4 wickets in this magnificent spell.
Mukesh also showed amazing in the last over. The first three balls bounded, but bowled Ayush Badoni on the fourth ball and blown the stump with Rishabh Pant’s pads on the last ball. Lucknow Super Giants were reduced to 159/6 thanks to Mukesh Kumar’s brilliant bowling.

The brilliant innings of Abhishek Porel (51 runs) and KL Rahul (57 runs) gave Delhi the sixth win of this season, while Lucknow was the fourth defeat.

Lucknow scored 159/6 runs while batting first, which Delhi easily crossed. Karun Nair’s wicket fell at the beginning of Delhi, but after that Porel and Rahul made their grip on the match and brought the team closer to victory. Porel completed his half-century in 33 balls and returned to the pavilion after scoring 51 runs. Rahul won the team by scoring 57 runs in 40 balls, while captain Akshar Patel was notout 34 runs.
Delhi’s bowling, especially Mukesh Kumar’s brilliant bowling limited Lucknow to a low score, and Delhi won the match easily. With this victory, Delhi remained second in the points table, while Lucknow finished fifth.
