Shillong/Indore: The mysterious incident in Shillong on a honeymoon trip with Raja Raghuvanshi and Sonam Raghuvanshi has taken a new turn. The Shillong police got the last glimpse of Raja and Sonam in the CCTV footage of a hotel, which was recorded on 22 June. On the basis of this footage, the police is engaged in adding links to Raja Raghuvanshi’s murder mystery and Sonam’s disappearance. Even after 13 days, no clue of Sonam has been found, while the king’s body was recovered under the double decker valleys of Shillong on the 9th day. Family members have demanded a CBI inquiry into the matter.
When did this dreadful accident happen?
On May 11, Raja and Sonam Raghuvanshi, tied in a matrimonial bond, reached Bangalore from Indore on 20 June for a honeymoon. After visiting Maa Kamakhya from there, he started the journey of Shillong. He had lost contact with the family from 23 June. The family informed the Indore police, after which Raja’s brother and Sonam’s cousin reached Shillong. Madhya Pradesh government ministers Kailash Vijayvargiya and Tulsiram Silavat discussed with the Meghalaya government and started the search. A joint team of Shillong Police and NDRF conducted a search operation amid heavy rains.
Where was the king’s body found in Shillong?
On the ninth day of the incident, the body of the king was recovered near the Double Decker hills, 25 km from Shillong. A sharp weapon, the king’s mobile and the rented Activa were also found near the body. The king’s body was brought to Indore by flight on Wednesday after a postmortem in Shillong on Tuesday. The body was taken home from Indore Airport via a special vehicle, where a crowd of family, friends and others gathered. The king’s mother and other women of the family had a weeping condition.
What did the family say on the Meghalaya Police?
The king’s funeral procession arrived at the Regional Park Muktidham, where his brother Vipin and the 7 -year -old son offered fire. During this, family members and friends raised slogans against the Meghalaya government and demanded a CBI inquiry. Raja’s brothers Sachin and Vipin said that the Meghalaya Police did not cooperate in the beginning. The investigation accelerated only after the intervention of the Madhya Pradesh government. Vipin had already feared kidnapping and murder, which was further strengthened by the king’s body and a knife.
Kailash Vijayvargiya gave important statement
The Shillong Police has registered a case of murder and special task force is working in search of Sonam. The Union Home Ministry has also discussed with the Chief Minister of Meghalaya. Cabinet Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya said that CBI investigation will be conducted if necessary. Raja’s brother Vipin said that heavy rains obstructed the search, but the body of the king was found with the help of Shillong Police and NDRF. However, Sonam has no clue yet.
