On Saturday 16 May, a special moment was seen at the Wankhede Stadium when the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) inaugurated the “Rohit Sharma Stand” in the name of Rohit Sharma. Rohit Sharma was present with his entire family on this occasion, his parents, wife Ritika and younger brother Vishal Sharma also became a part of the ceremony.
While on one hand this day was very special for Rohit, on the other hand a light family moment was also captured on camera. In a video going viral on social media, it was seen that Rohit Sharma gets angry with a dent in his car. He asks his younger brother Vishal – “What is this?” Vishal first gets a little nervous and replies – “Reverse.” On this, Rohit immediately asks – “Whose?”

At the ceremony, Rohit Sharma said, “Dreamed of playing here since childhood, but never thought that there would be a stand in my name.” He thanked the MCA and his family and said that when he goes to play against Delhi Capitals for Mumbai Indians on this ground on 21 May, it will be a more special moment for him.
Significantly, Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from Test cricket on 7 May. Earlier, he has also left T20 cricket and is now focusing only on ODI.
