Uttarakhand: The doors of Badrinath Dham, one of Chardham, have been opened for devotees. The entire temple is decorated with flowers. On this occasion, flowers were rained on the temple. Badrinath Temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is considered one of the most sacred sites of Hindus. Please tell that the doors of Gangotri, Yamunotri and Kedarnath have already opened. The journey of Char Dham has started.

The temple is open from May to November

Badrinath Dham is considered to be the abode of Lord Vishnu and is called the ‘Baikuntha’ of the earth. This holy site is situated between the male and Narayan mountains on the left bank of the Alaknanda River. The temple is open to pilgrims only from May to November. In winter, when the doors of the temple are closed, then Lord Badrinath is worshiped in the Narasimha temple in Joshimath. The lamp lit in the temple keeps on burning continuously for six months before the doors are closed.

Chardham Yatra started

In Badrinath Dham, Lord Vishnu is worshiped as a quadrilateral idol made of Shaligram. According to religious beliefs, this place has been the taphoomi of the male-Narayan form of Lord Vishnu. There is a famous saying, “Jo Jaane Badri, he did not come Odari,” that is, the person who worships with reverence in Badrinath Dham, does not have to be born again.

This year, the doors of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham were opened on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya. After this, the Chardham Yatra has started completely with the opening of the doors of Baba Kedarnath Dham on 2 May and the opening of Badrinath Dham today.
