Vijay Sethupati wept while shooting this scene of Maharaja, told the story on the heart

Apart from his magnificent films, Vijay Sethupati is also known for some memorable characters, one of which is ‘Maharaja’. Directed by Nithilam Swaminathan, released in 2024, the film was the fourth highest grossing film of the year which also proved to be a hit at China’s box office. The film grossed more than Rs 100 crore in China. Like there is a story related to every film. Similarly, while telling about ‘Maharaja’, South Superstar Vijay Sethupati narrated an anecdote and told that he cried three times while shooting a scene of the film.
Why Vijay Sethupati cried on the shooting of Maharaja
Vijay’s acting in the film ‘Maharaja’ was very much liked by everyone because he had a different style in it. However, there was also a scene in the film that was associated with sexual abuse case, which had a profound impact on his mind and heart. Being a father himself, the actor said that he felt a deep connection with this character and said that no father had to go through this pain. Talking to Koimoi, the actor remembered that he had shot the scene three times and he was crying again while trying. He said, “The first twice I tried to handle myself a lot, but my tears did not stop for the third time.” Apart from Vijay Sethupati, Anurag Kashyap, Mamta Mohandas and Nataraj have played important roles in the film. The film is directed by Nithilan Swaminathan.

Talking about her films, ‘Thalaivan Thalaivi’ starring Nitya Menon will be released in theaters on 25 July. Apart from this, Vijay Sethupati’s next film is also with Puri Jagannath. Tabu is also going to be seen in this project. Its shooting has started in Hyderabad a few days ago.
