Vikrant Massey starrer ‘The Sabarmati Report’ becomes tax free in Chhattisgarh after MP
Raipur 19 November (IANS). The film ‘The Sabarmati Report’ made on the Godhra incident of Gujarat is making waves across the country. Vikrant Massey-Rashi Khanna and Riddhi Dogra starrer ‘The Sabarmati Report’ has now been made tax free in Chhattisgarh after Madhya Pradesh.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has announced to make the film ‘The Sabarmati Report’ tax free in the state. The Chief Minister said that the film ‘The Sabarmati Report’ should also be watched because only the study of the past can give us better guidance about the present and future.
He said, “This film is a very commendable and impressive attempt to expose the horrific truth of history, which was tried to be suppressed for the sake of vested interests. This film exposes the truth of the makeshift system which distorts the truth by spreading false narratives.” The film presents the painful incident with sensitivity.
Let us tell you that the film ‘The Sabarmati Report’, which has received praise from the country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, has been made tax free in Madhya Pradesh before Chhattisgarh. MP CM Mohan Yadav while talking to media said “The Sabarmati Report” is a very good film. I’m going to check it out personally. I am also taking my ministers, MLAs and MPs with me. I want to tell that we are going to make it tax free, so that more people can watch this film.”
He further said, “That is such a dark chapter of the past, the truth of which is understood after watching this film. Politics has its place. But, playing such a dirty game for the politics of votes was a very bad thing.”
‘The Sabarmati Report’ is based on the incident of fire in the Sabarmati Express train. This incident took place on February 27, 2002, in which 59 people died due to burns. The film stars South film industry’s successful actress Raashi Khanna and Vikrant Massey as journalists who work together to uncover the brutal truth behind one of India’s most controversial incidents.
Whereas, actress Riddhi Dogra has played the role of an English journalist in the film. Presented by Balaji Motion Pictures, Vikir Films, ‘The Sabarmati Report’ is produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ekta R Kapoor, Amul V Mohan and Anshul Mohan. This film has been released in theaters on 15 November.
