Two Indian cricket superstars Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have retired from Test and T20 and they are now only focusing on ODI but BCCI is not convinced about their future. According to a PTI report, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is going to talk openly with both Indian cricket veterans about their ODI future.

Kohli and Rohit have not yet retired from ODIs, which indicates that both of them want to play the ODI World Cup in 2027 but to prepare a roadmap before the BCCI World Cup, do not want to be in any dilemma about their participation. That is why he is going to talk with these two players soon.

The report quoted a source as saying, “Yes, this will be discussed soon. We have more than two years for the next World Cup (November 2027). Both Kohli and Rohit will be 40 years by then, so there should be a clear plan for this big event as our last victory was in 2011. We have to try some youths in time.”

The source further said, “Look, both Kohli and Rohit have made a huge contribution in the team and the white ball cricket in general. They have achieved almost everything. Therefore, I don’t think someone is going to pressurize them, but before the next one -day cycle starts, there will be some honest and professional conversations before the next one -day cycle starts to see where they stand mentally and physically. It depends on the same.”
