‘Virat Kohli took retirement early, he could play 2026 T20 World Cup comfortably’
The team of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is also seen qualifying for the playoffs this year. Currently, Rajat Patidar’s team ranks third in the points table with 12 points and the credit also goes to charismatic batsman Virat Kohli as he is seen in great form with the bat in the current season and he is once again back in the race to win the Orange Cap in the IPL.
On Thursday, April 24, he scored a half -century in the match against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, due to which he reached the second number in the list of players scoring the most runs in this season. He has so far scored an average of 65.33 in nine innings and 392 runs at a strike rate of 144.12. Seeing the form in Kohli T20 format, it seems that he should not have retired from T20 International.
Kohli announced his retirement from T20 International cricket after winning India in Barbados last year after winning the T20 World Cup. However, seeing Virat’s IPL form to Suresh Raina, it seems that Virat retired quickly. Raina believes that Virat could play till 2026. The former Indian batsman also appreciated Kohli’s batting rhythm and fitness.
Raina said on Star Sports, “I still feel that Virat Kohli retired from T20 cricket early. The rhythm with which he is playing now and even during the 2025 Champions Trophy, he could play till 2026 on the basis of the rhythm he was playing with.
Let us tell you that Kohli is the highest run-scorer in T20 World Cup history. Not only this, in the 2024 T20 World Cup final against South Africa, Kohli was also awarded the Player of the Match award for his brilliant innings. Kohli also has the highest number of runs in IPL. If he becomes the highest run -scorer in the current season, he will become the first Indian and the second batsman to win three orange cap.
