Virat Kohli’s brother tightened up on Indian bowlers, said- ‘Our team used to take 20 wickets’
Virat Kohli Brother Slams Indian Bowlers: In the first innings in the Manchester Test, India’s team was badly buried in front of England batsmen, and lagged behind a huge lead of 311 runs. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli’s brother Vikas Kohli expressed displeasure over Team India’s bowling and reminded of the old days. Even though Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar’s century partnerships draw the match in the second innings, the poor performance of the bowlers remains a big issue of discussion.
Team India’s bowling department flopped in the fourth Test of the series played in Old Trafford, Manchester. After being reduced to 358 runs in the first innings, the Indian bowlers completely failed to stop the England batsmen. England took full advantage of the favorable batting pitch and scored 669 runs and took a lead of 311 runs.
Virat Kohli’s brother Vikas Kohli was also angry at this disappointing bowling performance of Team India. He wrote on threads, “Our Test team took 20 wickets till some time ago,” the statement directly points to the time when the fast bowling unit under Virat’s captaincy was famous for the opposition teams out twice.
However, despite such a huge edge, Team India did not lose courage in the second innings. Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar took the front after captain Shubman Gill and KL Rahul got out early. The two together added 203 runs for the fifth wicket. Jadeja remained unbeaten on 107* and Sundar 101* and India draws the match, taking out more than five sessions.
The England bowler, who was wreaking havoc in the first innings, yearned to take wickets on the last day. Ben Stokes (141 runs and five wickets) was adjudged Player of the Match for the second consecutive time. This was India’s first draw in 35 years at Old Trafford, last time in 1990.
The series Filhal is in favor of England 2–1 and the last match will be played at The Oval from 31 July. Jadeja-Sunder’s partnership for India brought relief, but it is clear from Vikas Kohli’s statement that the team needs to pay immediate attention on bowling. The workload management of Jaspreet Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj, the absence of Kuldeep Yadav and the problems like Shardul Thakur will become a big challenge in front of the selectors.
