New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah released a special postage stamp at an event held in the Delhi Assembly, which is to commemorate the completion of 100 years of the great freedom fighter Vitthalbhai Patel becoming Speaker of the Central Assembly. This two -day ceremony is being celebrated as the ‘All India Speaker Conference’, which included speakers from various states.

Vitthalbhai Patel’s contribution mentioned

Recalling Vitthalbhai Patel in his address, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, “Today is a very historic day, because Vitthalbhai Patel became the speaker of the Central Assembly 100 years ago.” He also suggested that all the assemblies should put the words of their great presidents in the library there. Today, the exhibition that was held about Vitthalbhai Patel should be held in all the assembly of the country. ”

Comparing the contribution of Vitthalbhai Patel and his brother Sardar Patel, Amit Shah said, “Gujarat gave two brothers, one of which, Sardar Patel supported Gandhiji in the freedom movement and the other, Vitthalbhai Patel laid the foundation for the legislative traditions of India.” He also recalled great leaders like Gopal Krishna Gokhale, Lala Lajpat Rai, Chittaranjan Das and Malaviya ji, who played an important role in the House.

Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju described this conference as extremely useful. He said that it is our responsibility to remember those great people who worked for the country. Rijiju emphasized the importance of parliamentary proceedings and said that if Parliament and Assembly do not work properly, then questions are raised on democracy.

He also admitted that it is natural to create an uproar in the House as people with different ideologies join it. However, he also emphasized that the opposition’s job is to criticize the government’s work, not stopping the House from walking. Rijiju said that all assemblies have their own traditions and follow them regularly.
