Warning of heavy rain during the next 48 hours in 15 states including Bihar

New Delhi: Many states of North India including Delhi are getting scorching heat. Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and East Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and North-Western Madhya Pradesh are getting scorching heat. Ganganagar recorded the highest maximum temperature in the plains of the country at 48.0 degrees Celsius. From June 14, there is a possibility of gradually getting relief in the status of heat in northwest India.
A new western disturbance is becoming active in the country
Amidst the scorching heat, the monsoon is expected to enter the active phase. According to the Meteorological Department, a new western disturbance is becoming active. Due to this, heavy rains may occur in the states of northwest India from June 13. On 13 and 14 June, there will be extremely heavy rainfall at some places in Konkan and Goa.
The Meteorological Department said that thunderstorms are expected at different places in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Puducherry, Karaikal, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana during the next 24 hours. During this period, strong winds can also blow at a speed of 30-50 kmph.
Rain alert with thunderstorms till 16 June
Thunderstorms are expected at different places in Gujarat during Gujarat and 12–14 June during June 14-16 and Central Maharashtra, Marathwada, Konkan and Goa. Along with this, strong winds can also blow at a speed of 50-70 kmph. Medium rains are expected to continue at some places in sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during the next 7 days and there may be rain in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Odisha during the 12–13.
The Meteorological Department said that during 12-15 June, there is a possibility of thunderstorms in Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Ganga plains West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand. Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar may receive heavy rains during 12-13 June in Madhya Pradesh on 14 and 15 June.
Rain warning in Northeast India
Light to moderate rainfall is expected in the entire region in the next seven days in Northeast India. Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura are likely to receive heavy rainfall from 12 to 16 June.
