According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand for the next few days. There are incidents of landslides, cloudburst and rock fall due to heavy rains.
Today, a fierce incident of cloudburst came to light in Uttarkashi district. A cloudburst in Dharali village here caused heavy havoc. In a few seconds the entire village was swept away in flood. It is difficult to guess the damage caused by this tragedy, but rescue teams are engaged in relief and rescue operations. So far 10 people are killed in this incident, more than 40 people are missing and more than 100 are trapped. At the same time, 5 hotels were completely destroyed in this devastating flood. 10 to 12 laborers are also expected to be buried due to floods.
Schools will be closed tomorrow in Uttarkashi
At the same time, the Uttarkashi administration is on high alert after the cloudburst. On August 6, all government and private schools as well as Anganwadis will be closed. In addition, the administration has directed the local authorities to immediately announce the people living on the low -lying areas and the river to safe places through loudspeakers. The Meteorological Department has also predicted heavy rains yesterday.
Waterlogging on roads due to rain
Due to heavy rains in many districts of the state, there was waterlogging on the roads, due to which people are facing problems. With the closure of Yamunotri and Gangotri highways, about 59 roads are closed in the state. Along with this, Yamunotri and Gangotri National Highways are closed everywhere. The road has been closed due to debris from the mountain near Dabrani on the Yamunotri highway.
Alert issued for these districts
The Meteorological Department has issued heavy rains orange alert in districts like Dehradun, Pauri, Tehri, Haridwar, Nainital and Bageshwar and Yellow alert in other districts. In many places, there is a possibility of intense rains with thunderstorms, causing people to be vigilant.
