The Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) was played between Chepock Super Guilies and Nellai Royal Kings in 2025, which was easily conquered by Chepock’s team by 41 runs. However, a dramatic incident was also seen during this match in which the Royal Kings bowler survived the injury.
Actually, it happened that the bat of Super Guilies opener’s Aashiq broke while playing the shot and a broken part of the bat jumped towards the bowler. It was a matter of honor that the broken part did not be attached to the bowler or else he could have been seriously injured.
The incident occurred during Powerplay, when Nellai fast bowler Emmanuel Cherian bowled a sharp length ball. Aashiq tried to kill it on long-on, but the ball felt so loud that his bat broke and half of the ball fell dangerly to Cherian, but he narrowly survived. Talking about this match, Nellai Royal Kings won the toss and decided to bowl first. Chepock Super Guilies suffered an early shock when opener RS Mokit Hariharan was dismissed cheaply. However, Aashiq and captain Baba Aparajit handled the innings by making an important partnership of 83 runs for the second wicket. Sachin Rathi was dismissed by Sachin Rathi by scoring 41 off 29 balls.

However, Aashiq shared a 33 -run partnership with Vijay Shankar before losing his wicket after scoring 54 runs. The innings was finalized by Shankar and Swapnil Singh, who performed a bang with the bat. Both shared a 56 -run partnership off 19 balls. Swapnil scored 45 off just 14 balls at a strike rate of 321.43, while Shankar remained unbeaten on 24 balls. In this way, Chepock Super Gillies scored a total of 212 runs in 20 overs. For Nellai Royal Kings, Sonu Yadav did disciplined spell and took two wickets in his four -over spell, while V Yudhishwaran impressed with three wickets in his three overs. Chasing 213 runs to win, captain Arun Karthik scored a stormy innings of 51 runs off 42 balls. Mohammad Adna Khan scored 48 runs from 27 balls, but other batsmen failed to score adequate runs, chasing this big target. The Kings finally lost by 41 runs.
