WCL 2025: At the World Championships of Legends, South Africa Champions have made a debut with the Cricket League by defeating the West Indies. This match between West Indies and South Africa was so exciting that its result was extracted from a unique rule and that rule is named Ball Out.

Ball out is the rule that was used to extract the result of India-Pakistan match in the 2007 T20 World Cup. After 18 years, when this rule was used on the cricket field, the fans remembered Pakistan’s helplessness.

WCL 2025: 11-11 overs match due to rain

The rain could rain between South Africa Champions and West Indies Champions due to 11–11 overs. Batting first, the West Indies scored 79 runs at the loss of 5 wickets. South Africa Champions got DLS target 81 runs due to rain.

The thrill of the last over

In the last over, South Africa Champions needed 9 runs to win. 7 runs were scored on the first 3 balls, but after that the smats were cleaned on the fourth ball. Morne van was caught out on the fifth ball. On the last ball, Leg Bai got 1 run and the match was tied. After which the umpire decided to ball out. Aaron Fangiso came first from South Africa and he missed.

South Africa Champions won the match

Chris Morris came for the second occasion and he also missed. Hardas also could not hit the wicket. Three balls were useless. In the fourth attempt, JJ Smats hit the wicket and kept South Africa’s expectations alive. Wayne Parnell also hit the wicket in the fifth attempt. The West Indies had to hit three out of five balls but could not do even one. Due to which South Africa won the match due to ball out.

Salt on the wounds of Pakistan

Remind you that the match played between India and Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2007 was also tied in a similar way. During that time the decision of the match was also removed from the ball out rule itself. Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh and Robin Uthappa Ball then hit stumps, but Pakistan’s Yasir Arafat, Omar Gul and Shahid Afridi missed and the Indian team won 3–0 in that ball.
