China is afraid that Trump might start a trade war against China again. Donald Trump had said in the election campaign that he would impose heavy taxes on goods coming from China. He had talked about imposing 60 percent tariff. In such a situation, goods going from China to America may be banned. China sells goods worth $400 billion to America every year. At the same time, Donald Trump had also talked about ending China’s most favored nation status.

What do experts say?
Trade between China and America Experts have different opinions regarding relationships. Rajiv Kumar, former vice-chairman of India’s Niti Aayog, says that Donald Trump will impose tariffs and import restrictions on countries whom he feels are not friendly to America, which includes China and some European countries. If this happens, it could open up markets for Indian exports. Barclays said in a research report on Wednesday that Donald Trump could be most important for Asia in terms of trade policy. The report estimated that Donald Trump’s tariff proposals would reduce China’s GDP by two percent and put pressure on other more open economies in the region.
