Prime Minister Narendra Modi has presented him a plant during a meeting with King Charles. This plant is presented under the “Name of a tree mother” environmental initiative. The Royal Family said on its official X handle- “This afternoon, King welcomed India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Sandringham House. During his meeting, His Majesty was given a gift of a tree to be planted in this autumn, which is inspired by the environmental initiative,” name of a tree mother “, which encouraged people to plant a tree in honor of their mothers.”
Which plant is it?
According to information given by official sources, PM Modi has presented King Charles a tree of Davidia Involukreta ‘Sonoma’ species as part of a tree mother’s campaign. This plant is also commonly known as ‘Sonoma Dow Tree’. Sonoma Dow Tree is known as a decorative tree in which a lot of flowers bloom in a short time. Davidia Involukretta plants take 10 to 20 years to bloom. However, Sonoma is a premature variety. Flowers start blooming within 2 to 3 years of planting this plant. (input language)
