What is Aadhaar Authentication?
Aadhaar Authentication is a process through which it is verified that someone is what he claims – that is, his Aadhaar number is real and the information related to it is correct.
Under the Aadhaar Authentication, the Aadhaar number of a person is sent to UIDAI’s Central Identity Data Repiolent (CIDR) for its verification with Demographic Information (eg name, date of birth, gender etc.) or biometric information (fingerprint or eye iris). UIDAI checks the authenticity of the details sent based on the information available to them.
Three main methods of base authentication
1. OTP (One Time Password) based Authority
OTP is sent to your registered mobile number.
You verify your identity by putting that OTP.
2. Biometric Authentication
The identity is confirmed through your fingerprint or IRIS scan.
3. Face Authentication
Your face photo is mixed with UIDAI’s record.
What are the benefits of Aadhaar Authentication?
Aadhaar authentication proves your identity immediately. Therefore, no one needs to keep any identity proof other than the Aadhaar number.
Is there any system to inform Aadhaar number authentication?
The UIDAI Aadhaar number gives information about authentication on the registered email of the holder. Whenever UIDAI receives biometric or OTP based authentication request against the Aadhaar number, an information is sent to the registered email address.
